Grade Level Funding
The Foundation provides the school with financial support earmarked for specific grade levels and groups. Currently the Foundation allocates 47% of its funds to Grade Level Programs. These funds are then split between the following grades/groups:

Each grade level/group then has discretion to utilize the funds to further the educational aims of the Foundation. The School maintains a full accounting of how these funds are spent, and provides a monthly summary to the BFF Board. Copies of these reports are available in the Documents section of our website.
Principals Discretionary Fund
In addition, the Foundation allocates 10% of its funds to the Principal for use for the benefit of all grades and groups. The Principal has discretion on how these funds are used provided they support the educational aims of the Foundation. The Principal provides an accounting of how these funds are spent as part of the monthly report to the BFF Board.
How the Funds Are Spent
In the 2010-11 School Year BFF grade level and Principal's discretionary funds were spent as follows:
Examples of the purchases made from these funds include:
- Rigby Readers for multiple grades
- Ipod 'boom boxes' for second grade classroom reading/listening
- Nisewonger Audio/Visual Equipment
- English/Language Arts Vocabulary Resource Books
- Vocabulary Resource Books for each 5th grade student
- Touch Money Kit for Special Education
- Computer Software for the Art Department
- Music Equipment for the Music Department (including drums, triangles & tambourines)
- Sports Equipment for the PE Department (including 7 dozen balls)
- 3rd Grade Social Studies Biography Books
Since the Foundation was created in 2008, a total of over $54,000 has been allocated and spent to further the education of our children at BFES.
We expect to make a wide range of additional grants throughout the 2011 / 2012 school year. Thanks to the entire Birmingham Falls Elementary family and community for making this happen!
